City-Based Emergency-Care Guides
Arranging Ambulance Transport in Mumbai and MMR
Mumbai's dense neighbourhoods, suburban travel, bridges, railway crossings, monsoon conditions, and high traffic volumes can make patient transport logistically demanding. Good preparation helps the ambulance team understand the journey before arrival.

Give precise building access information
Provide the exact address, building entrance, floor number, lift information, and a local contact person. In a large housing society or commercial complex, share the gate or service entrance that can accommodate the ambulance.
Explain the patient's needs
Tell the coordinator whether the patient requires a stretcher, wheelchair support, or a vehicle suitable for lying-down transport. Mention if the destination is a hospital, rehabilitation centre, elder-care facility, or home. The vehicle and crew should be selected according to the transport requirement.
Consider weather and route conditions
Monsoon rain can affect travel time and access in some areas. Keep the phone available for updates and provide an alternative contact if the primary attendant is busy. For intercity transfers, confirm the expected route and any planned stops with the operator.
Hospital communication
If a receiving hospital has already been selected, share its correct name and department. A hospital's emergency capacity and admission decision are determined by the hospital, not by a transport platform.
TenMed Network can help route ambulance enquiries and connect them with network participants across Mumbai and surrounding areas.
