Pre-arrival information matters
A short pre-arrival note lets a hospital assemble the right people and space. It typically covers mechanism of injury, observations en route and interventions already given.
Connectivity is a process, not a device
Messaging apps, phone calls and digital handover forms all work when the underlying habit exists: tell the receiving team early, tell them briefly, and confirm they heard it.
- Confirmed destination before departure wherever possible
- A single point of contact at the receiving facility
- A written summary handed over on arrival
Setting realistic expectations
Connectivity improves preparation. It cannot promise a bed, a specific specialist or an outcome, and families should be told this plainly.
